About High Point Regional Visitors Center, North Carolina
Travelers to the region can experience a venue like no other at the High Point Convention and Visitors Bureau’s new Regional Visitors Center.
While other visitor centers are city-centric, the new center proactively offers information about tourist opportunities in neighboring cities and surrounding areas. Presented in the style of an art museum, 14 galleries engage the imagination with innovative interactive touch screens, beautiful photography, videos, music and brochures about tourist attractions.
“The new center was designed from the ground up to help visitors coming through the region to plan their trips. Even if High Point isn’t the final destination, we’re the perfect hub and starting point because High Point is the epicenter of the state’s interstate and state highways,” says Tim Mabe, HPCVB president and CEO.
Furniture shopping is the No. 1 reason visitors come to The Home Furnishings Capital of the World!TM To help consumers navigate the more than 40 retail furniture stores and outlets in High Point, the kiosks at the Regional Visitors Center provide information based on the style and type of furniture carried at each store.
The High Point CVB’s Interior Design Services also help consumers to identify an area interior designer who can assist them with everything from creating a room design plan to providing access to showrooms that otherwise are closed to the public.
The newly launched website, highpoint.org, offers the same information that is provided through the touchscreen kiosks, in order to better prepare furniture shoppers who are coming to High Point. Visitors are also encouraged to download the new Your High Point mobile app, which offers a listing of preferred members and passport to savings coupons, as well as other useful information.
